DEVELOPEMENT

The new Powerweave version of Rapha's Explore started with a meeting at the 2019 Materials Show in London and this gravel-ly looking textile made from a unique blend of TPU coated yarns and polyester yarns.

Creating the perfect transition between the stripe and the texture was a difficult  but a fun challenge. 

The wabi sabi black TPU coated yarns, made in a small family owned factory near Avery's factory, transitions from thick to thin and matte to eggshell finish. 

The artwork changed many times throughout development, but the rough little texture stayed in place from beginning to end.
